Very common birds around Madison, particularly around the lakes.

A downy woodpecker seen at the Nine Springs E-Way, Dane County, Wisconsin.

Walter in Black and White
A lost and tired homing pigeon that landed in our yard and stayed with us for almost a week while recovering.

Crane Crossing
One of my favorite bird shots, I almost missed seeing this crane on a side road off of where I was driving.

A mallard mother with several ducklings along Lake Monona, Madison, Wisconsin.

House Sparrow with Popcorn
Probably the most common bird day-to-day in Wisconsin, but they are pretty when you really look at them.

Grackle on Fence
A grackle on our backyard fence in Monona, Wisconsin.

Robin's Nest
A mother robin with several of her young ones in their nest.

Muscovy Duck
What appears to be a free-roaming Muscovy duck, this one was hanging out with a group of mallards at the UW Arboretum, Madison, Wisconsin.
